Escape the Reef
A 2D pixel adventure, made in Godot
Escape the Reef is a 2D game I'm making in Godot: a love letter to the pixel-art games I grew up on. It started as an experiment to learn the engine, and it has quietly grown into something I actually want to finish.

Why make it
Not every project needs a grand thesis. Sometimes you make a game because you love games. Escape the Reef keeps my hands in 2D and pixel craft while the bigger projects cook, and it reminds me that shipping something small and finished is its own kind of win.
What it is
- Made in Godot
- Built in the open-source Godot engine, hand-crafted scene by scene, mechanic by mechanic.
- Pixel-art roots
- Drawing on the pixel genres and the classics that made me fall for games in the first place.
- An experiment, growing up
- It began as a way to learn the engine, and it is turning into a real, finished game.
