Privacy policy
This policy covers Eggvelop ApS and everything we make: this website, our apps, games and web services, our pages on social media, and the tools we use to run them. Some products have their own privacy policy, for example Podmenti and Smile App Launcher. Where a product has one, it is more specific and takes precedence for that product. This policy covers everything else.
The short version
We collect as little as we can, use it only to run the things you use, and never sell it. We don’t run advertising trackers. Anything beyond what a product strictly needs, such as analytics, happens only if you agree to it. You can ask us what we hold about you and have it deleted at any time.
Who is responsible
Eggvelop ApS, CVR 44287463, Denmark, is the data controller. Email Jonathan@eggvelop.com about anything on this page.
What we collect, and why
- When you visit eggvelop.com. This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address, browser and the pages you request, to deliver the site and protect it against abuse.
- When you create an account in one of our products. Your email address, a username if the product uses one, your login credentials (passwords are stored only as secure hashes) and your settings. Plus whatever you create or store in the product, because that is the point of it.
- When you log in with another service. If a product lets you log in with an account from Apple, Google, Facebook or similar, we receive only the basic profile information you approve, such as your name, email address and an account ID, and use it only to log you in.
- When you buy something. Payments are handled by payment providers such as Stripe, the Apple App Store and Google Play. We receive what we need to deliver what you bought and keep our accounts: what you bought, the amount, and usually your email address and country. We never see your full card details.
- Usage and error data. Some products measure how they are used, and report errors so we can fix them. Where this is not strictly necessary for the product to work, we ask for your consent first, and saying no changes nothing else.
- Your age. Some products, for example games, ask for your age or date of birth so they can apply age-appropriate rules and meet legal requirements.
- When you contact us. Your email address and what you write, so we can answer.
- Our social media pages. When you follow, comment on or message our pages on platforms such as X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn or Reddit, the platform processes your data under its own privacy policy. We see what the platform shows the people running a page: public interactions, messages sent to us and aggregated statistics. For the statistics Meta provides about our Facebook and Instagram pages, Meta and Eggvelop are joint controllers under Meta’s Page Insights Controller Addendum, and Meta handles your rights requests for that data. We publish to our own accounts with a scheduling tool we host ourselves. It reads comments and statistics on our own posts, and nothing about anyone beyond what the platforms show on those posts.
We don’t use your data for advertising profiles, we don’t sell or rent it, and we don’t use it to train AI models.
Legal basis
Under the GDPR we process personal data because it is necessary to provide a product you asked for (contract), because we have a legitimate interest in running, securing and improving our products and our social media pages, because you consented (for example to analytics or newsletters, which you can withdraw at any time), or because the law requires it (for example bookkeeping).
Who processes data for us
We use a small number of providers to run our products. They process data only on our instructions, under data processing agreements:
- Hosting and infrastructure: Cloudflare and Hetzner (servers in the EU).
- Email delivery: Resend, for login links, receipts and other email a product sends you.
- Payments: Stripe, the Apple App Store and Google Play.
- Analytics and error tracking, in products that use it: PostHog (EU hosting), Google Analytics and Sentry.
Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where data leaves the EU, the transfer is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Account data and what you store in a product: for as long as you have the account. When you delete the account, or ask us to, we delete it within 30 days.
- Server and security logs: a short time, normally no more than 30 days.
- Emails you send us: as long as needed to help you, then deleted.
- Purchase and accounting records: five years, as the Danish Bookkeeping Act requires.
Cookies
eggvelop.com uses none. Our products use cookies or local storage that are strictly necessary, for example to keep you logged in. Anything else, such as analytics cookies, is used only if you accept it, and the product asks you first.
Children
Most of what we make is for a general audience. Products that children may use apply age-appropriate rules. In Denmark, children under 13 need a parent’s consent before an online service may process their data on the basis of consent, and we follow that. If you believe a child has given us personal data without that consent, email us and we will delete it.
Your rights
You have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to our processing, to receive your data in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email Jonathan@eggvelop.com and we will answer within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.dk).
Deleting your data
Email Jonathan@eggvelop.com with the subject “Delete my data”, and say which product and which account or email address it concerns. We delete the data within 30 days and confirm when it is done. Many products also let you delete your account yourself in their settings.
If you connected a product to Facebook or Instagram, you can also remove it in your Facebook settings under “Apps and websites”. That stops the product from receiving any further data. Email us as well if you want what it already received deleted.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, this page changes first, with a new effective date at the top. For significant changes we also tell you in the product or by email.
